How to transfer your domain names

With OthelloNames.net Domain Name Regsitration it's simple to transfer your existing domain names.

You can transfer most domains to your Othello Client Portal account for free, and for just £7.95 for .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, or .us extensions (which adds an additional year to your current registration).

Due to security enhancements at the registries, transfer rules have changed for all .COM, .NET, .ORG, .INFO and .BIZ domain names. An EPP authorisation code is now be required to transfer domain names in to OthelloNames.net Domain Name Regsitration

To obtain your EPP authorisation code, you will need to contact your current registrar. You must provide us with the EPP Transfer Code to complete the process

This only applies to domains registered with other registrars than OthelloNames.net

How to transfer your domain

The following things need to be remembered before attempting a transfer...

  • your domain name does NOTinclude www.
  • the domain must already be registered (otherwise it is a registration not a transfer)
  • the domain must have been with its current registrar for 60 days before transferring
  • the domain must be unlocked
  • EPP code must be obtained for com/net/org/biz/info/us domains
  • the domain must not expire within the next 30 days
  • the domain must still be active
  • you must be the owner of the domain
